It is rightly said, “Education is the backbone of progress and development”. It is considered the religion of tolerance. But a few decades ago, education had become a source to transmit knowledge and pay much attention to the academic excellence. But now it lays emphasis on all round development of a child. Education should make the students to be physically, emotionally, socially and ethically balanced. It is to adjust to the present situation and make life best out of it.
In educating the children both parents and teachers play a major role. Worthy ideals put before them by their parents, teachers and others can certainly make them good and useful citizens. The attitude of the parents towards education, educators, value system and to the society in general will be reflected in the behaviour of the students.
The teacher and the school’s genuine concern is to understand the students with different backgrounds and concentrate on character building as well as intellectual excellence. This empowers them to develop their self-esteem, self-awareness and self-confidence. (................)
